About Us

We are a group of Physiotherapy students, aiming for an increase of international share of knowledge and network.

The Internacional Physiotherapy Students Meeting (IPSM) is an initiative of Physiotherapy students, aiming for an international network to share knowledge, experiences and cultures.
The first two editions was hosted by students from Alcoitao School of Health Sciences / Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão (ESSA) - Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa - Portugal and organised with the collaboration of other countries.

IPSM is a perfect opportunity for students of all over the world to get together, in a unique event structured for and by students. During these meetings its easy to build friendships, share experiences and at the same time increase important knowledge and perspectives in the Physiotherapy domain and future. This edition is again hosted by the students of ESSA, with the collaboration of other countries and will explore the theme "Journey to 2050". This journey is focused on the health care needs and changes anticipated for the future, considered as a priority for Health Organizations like OMS and WCPT. In line with this, our goal is to alert the new generation of physiotherapists for a need of a paradigm shift for the next years.

IPSM ’16 will take place in Algarve - Portugal from 21-25 of April 2016! 

Algarve is the southernmost region of Portugal, on the south-west tip of Europe. It is Europe’s sunniest spot where the finest beaches and weather on the continent meet traditional historic Portugal providing you the pleasure of the sunny weather and beautiful beaches with the learning experience that the program provides.

The event will take place at the Alfagar Aparthotel in Albufeira where the participants will be lodged and all activities will go on. This Aparthotel comprises a water slide, enviable location within easy reach of Albufeira, outstanding views overlooking the sea, and has direct access to the Santa Eulália beach.
